About Dr Vikram Padhye
Dr Padhye is a highly trained Australian Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon who consistently provides exceptional care and compassion for his patients. He is one of few surgeons who has completed two international fellowships in both advanced sleep apnoea and sinus surgery.
In 2019 he spent 12 months training in advanced sinus, anterior skull base and head & neck surgery at The University of Toronto, Canada with leading surgeon Professor Ian Witterick. He then travelled to California in July 2022 to undertake the prestigious sleep surgery fellowship at Stanford University under pioneering surgeon Professor Robson Capasso. He is the only Australian to have been awarded this fellowship, and has completed 2 years using new technology, and perfecting advanced techniques for the management of snoring and sleep apnoea.
With a keen interest in high level research, Dr Padhye has previously completed a PhD in sinus surgery under the supervision of renowned surgeon Professor PJ Wormald. Dr Padhye’s research was recognised with a commendation for thesis excellence by the University of Adelaide, as well as the RP Jepson Medal awarded by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. He has authored multiple journal articles, book chapters and presented his research both in Australia and internationally.
Born and raised in South Australia, he completed his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2008. During his surgical training, he rotated through all major SA public hospitals and completed 12 months of dedicated paediatric ENT surgery at the Women's & Children’s Hospital.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, manages the full scope of paediatric and adult ENT disorders, and has a special interest in sleep, nasal breathing and sinus surgery. He consults and operates in the public system at The Royal Adelaide, Modbury and Lyell McEwin Hospitals and operates privately at The Memorial Hospital and Calvary Adelaide.
When not at work, Dr Padhye loves his sport, music, food, travel and spending time with his wife and three children.
